Its raining again, and thundering and I am sitting here trying to read Sartre and keep getting distracted.
At the moment he is talking about being-in-the-world. I think this is a part of that push to reconcile consciousness with the phenomenon. Being-in-the-world is consciousness experiencing the phenomenon. It is the relationship between people and their environment.
He asks the very interesting question “What must man and the world be in order for a relation between them to be possible?” It’s interesting that he seems to think that by examining the relation between the two, the way people behave in the world, you can discover something about both the people and the world.
