I have put together this gallery so I can show off all the quilt blocks I have completed in my quest to complete all the quilt blocks in Maggi McCormick Gordon’s 1000 Great Quilt Blocks. The numbers in the captions relate to the block numbers in the book.
This is fantastic! Thank you for putting this gallery together – so inspiring!
thanks, hopefully more to come
This is amazing Helen. I am soooo impressed and what a wonderful collection of blocks you have made
thanks
So Helen when do you start putting them into a quilt !!
It will have to be soon. I have to make a 60th birthday quilt for August. I’m having today off though 🙂
wow! That is one of those things I often aspire to attempt, but never do.
I’m blown away Helen, by your commitment and industry (and skill, of course!) – what a wonderful resource for the rest of us! I look forward to seeing how many quilts you produce from the collection. Thank you for providing the link.
Thanks Jill
This is absolutely amazing. Congratulations. You should be so proud of your wonderful achievement. I have enjoyed looking at each design and have bookmarked this onto my computer as a favourite site. Thank you for posting
Leonie Tuffs
( a new quilter )
thanks. Hopefully you will enjoy being a quilter as much as I do
Fantastic Effort – Well Done Helen!
What a fabulous effort Helen, you’ve done yourself very proud! Looking forward to the next stage.
Congratulations Helen,
This is just wonderful to browse through. I like looking at your choice of fabrics and am looking forward to seeing a quilt – I wonder which ones you will choose!! cheers Adrienne in Eltham
Thanks Adrienne. I am currently making plans for what I am going to do with them all and trying to think of ways to do sampler quilts to make them a bit more interesting
Wow, congratulations, so inspiring. What size are your blocks?
Hi Glynis, the blocks are all different sizes. I started out trying to redraft to 4 and 8 inches, so a lot of them are that size. Some of them wouldn’t sensibly fit that size so are bigger, but I tried to keep blocks in the same fabric the same size so they would all go together.
Uau! wonderfull!
Wow – you have been busy! =D
Mind blown! Amazing challenge to complete all the quilt blocks – wow!
Thanks, it was definitely a great way to learn lots of new techniques and improve my sewing confidence
